Unicorn’s head is a children’s toy in every Mid Autumn Festival in Vietnam, one of the most iconic items in Vietnamese culture. It’s mould is made of cement, after that the makers will shape the head by using papier-mache. Each layer of paper is dried between intervals. Finally people use bamboo frame to reinforce the unicorn’s head. It’s not until this frame is completely dry would the finishing touch be applied.
The decoration decides the beauty of the unicorn’s head. Besides applying colors, glueing the mane, the product must be made as lively as possible, so that the traditional unicorn dance becomes more captivating.
